Sign ups for spring season is in January to Feb with the season running from March to June. The sign ups for the fall season are in June to July with the fall season running from August to end of October.

ITAA Fastpitch Softball League Information
ITAA Softball is 100% dedicated to recreation softball with no resources dedicated to travel only players.

ITAA currently plays Babe Ruth sanctioned softball. Babe Ruth offers numerous advantages including a post - season tournament All Star trail with a district, state and southeast regional tournament. Babe Ruth also requires our coaches to satisfactorily pass a Babe Ruth Coaching Certification process that ensures an equitable balance between skill development, fair play and enjoyment of the game.

Our goal is to have 3 teams in each age group with all practices held at Edna Love Park. Our games are played throughout Union County against teams from Matthews, Porter Ridge, Piedmont, Prospect, South Union, Waxhaw and Marshville.

The ITAA Softball registration fees include umpire fees, sanction fees with Babe Ruth, and uniform cost.
• 6U will play introduction to Softball (played with a tee-ball baseball or 10" yellow softball hit from a Tee or soft coach pitch). The girl only teams are formed and they play against other ITAA teams. All practices and games are held at Edna Love Park.
• 8U teams will play in a machine pitch league utilizing 11" ball. The ball is pitched by a spring loaded pitching machine that ensures constant action for the hitters and the defense. No kids pitch, which promotes the development of hitting and fielding.
• 10U, kid pitch softball at the 10U level with an 11" yellow softball.
• 12U, kid pitch softball with a 12" yellow softball.
• 14U, kid pitch softball with a 12" yellow softball.
In the fall season, our teams will play an average of 10 games with a final season tournament.

With the exception of tee-ball, our games have a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes.

ITAA takes pride in the uniforms provided to each player. We put our players in softball uniforms that include a jersey & socks.

ITAA through Union County Babe Ruth Softball has also developed a challenge softball program that offers the opportunity to play additional games in a tournament format. This is only available to the recreation players and the coaches and players will come from teams throughout Union County. Practice and games will not interfere with the recreation softball season. There is an additional cost for the challenge program.

Prior to signing up anywhere else, please ask the following questions:

• Is tee-ball softball played on a field specifically designed for the younger player - Yes
• Is there an active tee-ball program every season - Yes
• Is there an All Star trail with district, state and regional play - Yes
• Are coaches certified by a nationally recognized program - Yes
• Are there concessions and restrooms at the home park – Yes
